Amelia Island Tennis
The City of Fernandina Beach has tennis courts which are open to public use. Call the Recreation Department at 905.277.7350 for information, or pick up the keys for the tennis courts at the Atlantic Avenue Community Center. The public tennis courts are located on Atlantic Avenue at 13th Street.

Various condos and beach rental homes have private courts available also.

The Bausch & Lomb Tennis Tournament is played at Amelia Island Plantation every year in April.

Tennis at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida
South Carolina-born former college tennis player John Watson opened the tennis center in 1991 and ran the programs for five years. He returned in 2006 and has put in place game-matching (drawing on 100 or so local members) and daily clinics for adults supplemented during the summer and major holidays by junior clinics. "My goal is to develop more activity," he says, adding that he's looking at programs like Cardio tennis.
